Clips get shortened in timeline

I am trying to put together two clips into one image, and when I drop them
into the timeline, the last bit of each clip isn't there, yet the clips play
perfectly otherwise.
This is very annoying...how do I fix this?

the timeline is a rough draft mode showing you every other frame.... maybe
that's your issue if you're not seeing just one frame of each.

if not that, you may be trying to use video clips that don't work in Movie
Maker, such as MPEG-2 or Divx/Xvid encoded AVI.

When in the timeline view, use the page down key to zoom in.
