Problem with Win2k server fax and PCAnywhere

C

Curtis Desaulos

We have a server with Win2k SP4 and fax on it thru a Digi card and 2
external USR Courier modems.
Fax works fine.

An application requires a dial in modem for support and PCAnywhere. We've
attached a 3rd modem
(either to COM 1 or an additional DIG port, doesn't matter) and loaded
PCAnywhere in host mode.

When attempting to load Host mode, PCAnywhere complains that the "port is in
use".

The modem is disabled for send an dreceive in Fax Manager.

The modem appears properly in device manager, if I enable it for fax, it
works fine.\

How do I disable the 3rd modem for fax use and allow PCAnywhere to use it???

Thanks,

Curtis Desaulos

There is no way to disable modem for fax service alone.

You could try - Stopping fax service, Load PCAnywhere and Start Fax. Let us
know if this work around helps.
