Problem with Minidump!

Doug

Hi everyone!

I got a problem (Of course), and it is: Sometimes, when I boot up the
system I get the message below and things sometimes don't seem to run right.
I don't know if this problem is the cause of this, but sometimes while
playing games, the system will for no apparent reason reboot on its own.
What is this exactly and what can be done to resolve this problem?

This is a newly built system and it just started doing this.

The system is as follows:
P4 2.8 OC'd to 3.08 800 FSB
ASUS P4C800 Deluxe
PC 3200 Matched 512's Kingston's
WD 74 Gig Raptor HDD S-ATA
ASUS MX440 Video Card
Pioneer DVD burner
Toshiba DVD Rom
Themaltake 550 Watt True power PS

The processor under load is only running at 122 Degree's F max and idles at
86 degree's F, MB temp stays near 86 degree's F steady.

I think everything is well near spec's and the OS install was fresh as well,
Windows XP Pro with SP1 and all updates.

I have no idea what would be causing this problem but its starting to become
annoying and I would appreciate any and all help!!

Thanx everyone in advance!!

Hi,

I had a similar problem, frequently showed that or
similar message....changed the graphics card (not for
that reason) .... have never had the 'Minidump' problem
since.
No idea what relation one is to the other, or even if
there is one. Hope it might lead you in right direction.

Regards Paul

You have something that is crashing and the system's 'automatically
restart' is cutting in. Turn this off: in Control Panel - System -
Advanced, click Settings in the Startup and Recovery section. There
uncheck 'automatically restart'. You can also usefully change the
'write debugging information' to (none) - they are not really much use
You may now get a Blue screen failure instead, but at least will get
some guidance as to what is happening.

Probability is either hardware (windows is very fussy about RAM) or a
driver - usually indicated by its name, something.sys at the bottom of
the Blue screen

Just did a quick search...seems as if it is something to
do with the graphics card overheating...that was why I
changed my graphics card.
