Problem with file download pf fles in IE 6

My wife is trying to download a file from a web site and prior to today, it
was prompting to either open or save the file before it started the
download. Now it is simply defaulting to Open and she wants to get that
reset. This happens with her zip files and her .cwr that she is downloading.

There is a quirk in either XP or IE that when you try to open a .cwr file
it appears empty when the approriate application loads hence the need to
select save otpion.

How can we get this reset?

Any help is appreciated, we are runnign Windows xp an IE 6 with SP 2.

Thanks

Try opening Windows Explorer, go to 'Tools', then 'Folder Options. Under the
'File Types' tab scroll until you find that file extension. Click on
'Advanced' and the check the box for 'Confirm Open after Download".
