My wife is running WIndows XP wiht IE 6 sp 2. She is going to a forum we are
subscribed to that has .cwr files, we havethe application to open those file
so that is ok. Up until yesterday if she left clicked the file a dialog
appeared to do either an open or save. It is now defaultingto open which due
to a quirk in either the application or XP, the file cannot properly open
using that method. A save then open has to be done, I right click and select
save, but she wants it back the way it was, prompt her to save.

How can I reset this association if I am correct and it is a file
association that causing the .cwr file to open instead iof prompt for action?

In Windwos Explorer - Tools - Folder Optins - File Types - scroll down until
you find CWR - highlight it - Advanced - place a check in Confirm after
Download.
