Problem w/wireless conn after hibernation

R

Rodney Isom

I have a Sony VAIO laptop. When I wake up the computer from hibernation,
the wireless network often doesn't work. Sometimes I can repair the
connection, then it works fine. Sometimes I have to unplug the wireless
card to get it to work. This has only happened since I installed SP2.

Microsoft says there is a hotfix for this problem, but I will have to pay to
get it & I think it's only a file update or two. Does anyone have this
update that they would be willing to send me?

Thanks,
Rodney

"Your computer may indicate that your wireless network connection is
unavailable after you resume your computer from hibernation in Windows
XP"

This article says you should get the hotfix for free.
Also includes some work-arounds.

If the wireless card came with your computer, you may find updated
software on the Sony site. Otherwise, check the wireless card
manufacturer's website for driver updates.

HTH,
John
