problem w/ startup

i just resently cleaned my computer of 12 infected files.
As soon as i finished with the cleaning, restart, and
windows gets as far as bringing up the wallpaper and then
it prompts that its saving settings and goes back to
loading personnal settings. Well it just stays in that
loop, over and over.

I don't have a Win. 2000 disk because the computer was
given to me. So how can you help?

Try rebooting into safe mode and I bet it will start.
