Hi there,
I'm using Zipgenius version 6.0.2.1020, and my OS is WIN 2K
Professional with SP4. While using windows explorer, when the mouse
pointer is moved over a folder containing zip (genius) files, windows
explorer crashes with the following error message:
"Explorer.exe has generated errors and will close down".
Has anyone experienced this problem? I would be grateful if some one
could provide me with a solution to this problem. Thanks in
anticipation.

Hi Sub, :-)
Strange! I 've never seen before this bug (but I never had 2000). At my
system ZipGenius never crashed Explore (but I moved from 98SE directly
to XP).
Did you posted at ZipGenius Help Forum? What #1 (the author) said? (I
think its off-line, for maintenance).
If Forum is temporarily down, did you asked for help by direct mail to
#1?
If the above don't worked, did you tried to bring back a restore point
(before the bug's appearance), or complete partition's image?
If this happened after installing a new program, do you know who is the
conflicting program?
Unfortunately, if nothing can be done, you have to search for another
free solution (e.g. izarc). If another archiver solves the problem, OK.
If the problem remains, something bad happened to your OS.
Best Regards!
Elf Wizard. :-)

Hi Elf,
As you have mentioned, i was not able to post at the zipgenius forum
'cause it's down, and the online help page is still under construction.
So i've just sent a mail to #1.
I have not installed any program after installing Zipgenius; and what
is confusing is, Zipgenius, after installation, was working perfectly
fine for the first 15 days or so.
And it's not the problem with my OS alone; i work in a corporate
environment, and our systems administrator gave us permission to
install and use Zipgenius. About 5 of my other friends are also facing
the same problem!
Guess we have to ditch Zipgenius and switch over to some other
freeware.
Thanks,
SubbuM

You might try installing the latest version. There have been some bug fixes:

Version 6.0.2.1060 (November 10th, 2005)

I use ZipGenius 6.0.2.1041 and Win2K with SP4 and don't have that
problem. It also opens the ZIP file without errors. Try updating your
version of ZipGenius. I really like the program.
