Problem downloading Zip files

I have encountered a problem with downloading Zip files,
as before when i'd click on a link or enter a location in
my address bar (or just opening a location from another
program like IRC), it would ask me what type of action i
wanted, allowing me to save the file to my hard drive.
Today, i encountered the problem of it just opening the
file from the location itself, without asking me whether
or where i wanted to save the zip file at. I am certain I
did not click off the "always ask for this type of file"
checkbox, but apparently it thinks i did. Is there anyway
to restore this? "Restore web settings" doesn't seem to
do this.

This is controlled by file type.

Go to My Computer, View, Folder Options, File Type (or Control Panel, Folder
Options depending on your operating system). Search for the affected file
type, highlight it and select edit (or advanced). Turn on the option to
confirm open after download.
