Downloading Zip file problems

Sam

I accidentally clicked the wrong button when downloading a Zip file, and
now they all automatically open up within WinZip, instead of giving me the
option to save the file to my normal download folder. I don't see a way to
change this behavior, so that it will ask me each time what I want to do
with the file. All other file types download just fine.

I have Windows XP, sp1 and WinZip 9.0. Thanks.

Open Windows Explorer and go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to the file type in question and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Check the box for "Confirm open after download".

Thanks. I'd looked there before, but I must have just missed that one item.

Thanks for the feedback.

You're welcome... I hate messages that say they solved the problem, but
fail to say what was done. BTW, I do think that option is strangely worded.
"Confirm open after download" is sort of backwards, since you confirm what
to do with the file "before" download. No?

I agree from the user's standpoint. From the programmers standpoint, you're
setting it to open instead of save; it's downloaded before either is done.
