Printing VERY Slow!

My neighbor recently bought a new DELL with XP and a USB DELL Printer/Fax.


It sometimes takes up to 8 mins to print a page.

What things should be checked to correct this problem

First check how fast the printer should print. Bear in mind that the speeds
given on the Dell website are estimates and are usually printing only 10% of
a page sometimes even in draft format. Printing an image file, or something
with high coverage of the page will take a LOT longer than the estimates.

The Dell printers are rebadged Lexmarks. If you cannot find the details at
the Dell website (www.dell.com) then look for a similar looking printer at
www.lexmark.com.
