I have just added two printer drivers to a client's laptop. Both printers
are on a network and are being used by other people on the network.
On the laptop I added the printers using their IP addresses adding the
printers as a local printer. The printers installed without a hitch.
However, when I sent a test print to them neither printer responded. The
print queue displayed the test print job, then it disappeared as you would
expect when the print job succeeds, but nothing came out of the printer, no
error on the printer lcd or on the PC screen.
I tried loading a PCL dirver instead of PCL6 on one printer, but the affect
was the same.
The network is Novell 5.5 based. Whilst this could have an effect, I don't
think it is related as other PCs can print using this method on the same
network.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
