Printer port LTP1

Hi there,

I am having a problem printing. Cannot print, printer in task bar with
message "print fail". Went through all the troubleshooting but to no avail.
Basically in "printer->properties->Ports" LTP1 is ticked as the printer port
but when I go to Device Manager->Ports (COM & LTP) and click on the "+"
there is only COM. How to I force the OS to recognise or add the port. Why
does the printer properties show that there is a port but is is not there in
device manager?

I have tried deleting the printer then adding again (disconnected printer,
reboot, go through wizard atc many times-not a sausage!!!)

Is the LPT port enabled in the BIOS?

More info would help your situation. First, is the printer parallel, serial
or USB??
Second, when you boot your PC after plugging in the printer, XP should pop a
balloon stating new hardward found and ask you if you want to install it.
Then,
it will either install or ask you to insert the installation disk. More
info needed.
