Printer offline???

when 2 users print to the main printer (HP 8550N) at any time, the printer
will not print anything at all and go offline. A red error light blinks every
time this happens. A cold reboot of the printer gets the printer back online.
Other users can print fine with the same printer settings. All users are
connected to the printer through the server so they all have the same
settings. Any ideas??

On the Advanced tab, check if the "Print directly to the printer" is chosen.
This should not be the case if you want the spooler to manage the print que.

I thinkt I've seen MS articles describing this, the
problem being that Bi-directional printing support was
enabled for the printer. Try disabling Bi-directional
printing.
