Printer Issue

Occasionally when our network users try to print to a network (TCP/IP) printer, the print job does not print. The only way to get it to print is to perform the following steps:
1)Change default printer to some other printer.
2)Change default printer back to original printer.

If there is not a second printer set up, the user has to reboot in order to print.

This is happening with Lexmark, IBM, and HP printers.

Is there any way to resolve this issue so that users do not have to do this?

Thanks!

A few questions for clairty: Are all of your users on the same Operating System? Are they all able to see the printer name choice drop down menu on the print screen giving the list of available printers to choose from

If they are on different operating systems it may be a driver issue on the local machine for each of the respective printers

All of the computers are running Windows XP. I have completely removed the printer drivers per a previous post and reinstalled them, and the problem still persists.
