Printer creating a device icon is in the way

My printer creates a device that creates a "Safely Remove Device"
icon.

Is there a way to disable it so that it can be used only for my USB
drive removal?

You have a printer with a card or memory stick reader. If you really
want it to "go away", select it(USB mass storage device) in Device
manager and Disable it.
