Print Spooler??

S

Steve

I have a small wireless home network and I am having difficulty printing from
the main PC (wired to router). Whenever I try to print to my wireless HP
printer, the print job shows up momentarily in the spooler and then zeros out
almost immediately. There is no error message and nothing prints. If I
manually reset the spooler I can print one job and then the problem returns.
If I bypass the spooler and print directly to the printer it works every
time, but it's impossible to work this way as I have to wait for each job to
complete before proceeding. I have two other wireless PCs on this network and
they print to this printer fine. I have the current drivers installed for
this printer and HP cust service has pointed the finger back at Windows. Any
help would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

What port monitor is used?

Verify that Users have write access to \windows\system32\spool\printers

Check the system eventlog for print errors when the failure occurs.

I have seen some posts where printing direct works around some Anti Virus
software but I don't recall which application. If the first suggestions
don't produce the desired results, check the AV configuration.
