print spooler quit working

My husband tried to print and got a message saying that there was no printer
available. We had used it just a couple days previously. He went to look at
the printers and it said there weren't any. When he tried to add one it said
the print spooler service is not running. I looked in windows task manager
and it wasn't there. I found it on the c drive and tried to start it up but
it doesn't do anything. We have no idea what could have happened to it.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

So, if there where zero printers I honestly think that the problem is a
missing printer.

One could even think that a printer is found on services. On desk it
would be more prominent.

I found it on the c drive and tried to start it up but

Really, combining drives and printers is out of my knowledge. So sorry.

I do. I keep them to my self.

Found the answer in another question with title "Missing print spool after".
Great help to us. Had to do with our having removed a lexmark printer
previously and lexmark changes the way spooler is called. Look for it if
this sounds like your problem.
