I encountered a problem where my computer would take over 2 minutes to load
and while tinkering discovered that when print spooler service is disabled
the problem disapears however spooler must be started in order to print. i
have removed all of the print drivers i have loaded in the lately but still
have the problem as long as the spooler is running

I have the same problem -- I am running XP Pro with Service Pak 2.
When the spooler is running it is occupying 99%of the CPU -- everything
runs slowly and the machine will no hibernate until i kill the spooler.
I'll be interested to see if anyone can tell us what is going on.
