access denied to printer spooler

I am trying to install a printer on my laptop and I continually get a spooler
not running error message. When I go to services/print spooler it is marked
as automatic start, if I try to start it I get an error message saying error
5: access denied. I have full rights to this computer. Can anyone help with
this?

thanks.

You experience problems printing, viewing printer icons, and adding
printers, the Print Spooler service does not function correctly, and you
receive print-related error messages on a Windows XP-based computer:

Ramesh,
Thank you, the fix worked great, however whenever I fully turn the lap top
off the problem returns. I have to repeat the steps below each time. Any
thoughts on why this would be happening? Thanks.

Hi stxchck,

No idea why the spoolsv.exe file gets corrupted everytime. Perhaps you can
place a copy of this file to DllCache folder as well (overwriting the
existing file)?
