print spool won't clear after printing

In XP with a driver for a LJ2200dtn, the printer spooler
will not clear itself of the printed job. I says "Sent
to Printer" under status.

It does allow all docs to be deleted, or cancelled.

I thought it maight be a simple switch somewhere.

I have replaced the driver several times.
