print jobs that wont die.....

I have a user who turns his computer on in the am and
random print jobs start printing. The print jobs are in
fact jobs he has printed in the past but it appears as the
spooler isn't cleaning the up properly and after a restart
they print again...and again....

Anyone else ever run into this?

Thanks
GB~

Ascertain that the user knows how to shut down the computer properly.
This behavior can occur if the user simply "pulls the plug" so to speak
by just powering down with out using the Start menu.

He appears to be shutting it down properly. Also, prior
to shutting down, I have checked and the spooler shows no
sign of print jobs. But when the machine comes back up,
the spooler shows a bunch of random jobs....not
everything...just some things. Quite bizarre..

If these are HP Laserjet printers that use HP drivers, disable Bidirectional
on the Ports Tab. HP has a bug in there bidi code.

Gary,
I am having the same problem with an employee here. Everytime she turns
the computer on there seems to be files printing for no reason. They are
random items and I haven't been able to talk to someone who knows how to
correct it.

Amen! some co-workers and I have been fighting this crazy print problem. Could it be connecte
to an update from ms? It seems that the problems started in the middle of nowhere. No ne
printer was added, no new software. So far for us it is only XP.
