Print function defaults to FAX-I WANT MY HP4100 USED don't want fa

Everytime I want to print aol email or web pages, my print funtion
automatically wants to fax.
I have never used the fax. Even when I got to the Printer Options in
Control Settings and change it to my printer, it will not store it as the
default. Eventually I can get it to print but today, it won't even let my
printer work........just wants to fax.
Would someone tell me how this could have happened after 4 years of using my
printer and how to permanently fix it.

A default printer has to be always available. If the printer connection is
lost, the operating system will choose another printer as default. Check
your power saving settings.
