Previewer opens and immediately closes

MS Picture and Fax Viewer is my Preview program. I don't recall how
it was set that way, but that is what it is. Until recently, it
worked fine. Now when I choose Preview, it opens the Picture and Fax
Previewer and just as quickly closes it. It might have something to
do with my installing the Microsoft Raw Viewer or possibly Microsoft
Photo Info, two recent additions.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Ok, I just uninstalled MS Raw viewer and that made Picture and Fax
Viewer work correctly for supported file formats (jpg and tiff is all
I tried). But now I cannot view Canon RAW with the previewer. It
opens Photoshop CS3 instead. So, is there a way to be able to preview
jpg, tiff, and CR2 all with the same previewer?

Not all Canon camera RAW files are supported.
Check here to see if your model is supported:

Canon
TIF
EOS 1D, EOS 1Ds

CRW
EOS D30, D60, 10D, Digital Rebel, various PowerShot models

CR2
EOS 20D, 1D Mark II, 1Ds Mark II, Digital Rebel XT

I have the Canon 20D. The problem is not that. The problem is that
if I have the Raw viewer installed at all, the Picture and Fax viewer
does not work for any format, including JPG and TIFF. I had to
uninstall Raw viewer to get Picture and Fax viewer to work.

Could it be that simply changing the default for your RAW files would work?
Right click on a RAW file and click on Open with. Click on Choose program at
the bottom of the opening list. Then select Picture and Fax Viewer on the
opening list and check the box "Always..."
