Preview Screen Fails to work

The preview screen freezes when I use it to play back story board and time
line.
It will work to preview a clip in collections but fails to work correctly on
Story Board Playback and Time Line and editing. Any suggestions to correct?

What file type are you using, it really needs to be dv-avi or wmv to work
properly. You sound like you are using mpeg which doesn't work most of the
time.
