Prevent Windows from Parsing Zipped Files

Does anyone know how to prevent Windows Explorer XP from
parsing zipped files? When I load a DVD with
large zipped file content, it may take up
to twenty minutes before the windows explorer
will show the DVD contents.

Hi Aaron,

I did a lot of research and many tests and on my side including edit the
registry and renaming zipfldr.dll under C:\windows\System32, unfortunately,
it seems there is no good and safe method to disable this Windows XP
build-in function.

The DVD editor should consider separating the big folder into several
sub-folders. However, it seems this is out of our control :)

As a suggestion, you can consider installing Winzip, maybe it will provide
better performance: http://www.winzip.com/ If it is still very slow, we can
uninstall it.
