Prevent auto download of images in emails

How do I turn off the auto download of images in my incoming emails?

I would like to be able to read the text in the body of the email to ensure
it is not spam before clicking to download the pictures and other web content.

I am running OL2007 under WinXP

I appreciate your help, John
 
That option is enabled by default;
Tools-> Trust Center-> Automatic Download
