Images vanish from incoming mail

Using OL2007, new dual core PC

Today, for the first time, all images in incoming mail failed to load
after choosing the option in the header of each email to download the
images. Does anyone know where the setting is to turn on or off the
option to have all html info automatically download?

Also, does anyone know why this function stopped working today?

I should also note that I got an ERROR Message in Firefox for the
first time today. The error message was something like "proxy server
is refusing connections" and pages would not load. To fix it, I did
this: Tools / Options / Advanced / Network / Settings and then chose
"No Proxy."

Can anyone help?

Tools > Trust Center > Email Security > uncheck 'read all messages as plain text'.
