images won't load & delete button not functional

I've have two issue I'm dealing with.

1- When opening an HTML email the images won't download. They come
across as red X's. I've check my OPTIONS-SECURITY Tab-Change Automatic
Download Settings. And have changed both ways to see if I could load
or try and load manually. When they don't download I can right click
say DOWNLOAD IMAGES. Then the X's turn to image icons then turn back
to red X's.

2-The second issue occurred only after I reinstalled the software.
When I have an email in my Inbox I'm unable to highlight and click up
on the toolbar X(delete icon). Also is true if I right click on the
email. The delete option is grayed out. The only way I can delete is
to double click the email and have it open. I then am able to delete
the message.

Does this happen even if you start Outlook in Safe Mode? (hold down
CTRL while you click the icon) See if this helps:

I tried Safe Mode and that didn't seem to work. I also tried creating
a new account under Outlook and it wouldn't load the images. I
uninstalled the virus program, still nothing. And then I setup Outlook
Express and that wouldn't work either.

I've gone under the Control Panel and looked at the Internet Security
setting, which are set to Medium-High. I tried switching those to
Medium and changed anything with HTML (including scripts) to prompt.
Still nothing.
