Problem displaying embedded images

I'm currently having a problem with my OL2007 not displaying images.
Normally I get a light blue bar across the header asking me if I want to
download the images or trust the sender. I don't get that on all emails
now. The messages that it does appear it still won't show the images after
clicking it. The image locations changes from a red X do a graphic icon
(square icon with a triangle, circle and square inside of it).

I have tried the following:
Repair (Help-Office Diagnostics)
Trust Center - confirmed "don't download automatically" is checked as well
as ever option underneath that.
Under Trust Center-Email Security - Plain text is NOT checked.
Deleted temp files and hidden temp files.
Started in safe mode and images still don't show up.

Strangely enough, I tried forwarding an html email from another account and
those images appear in Outlook. It seems emails already in OL are having
problems rendering the full html and images.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Tom

ok, I think I found the problem. It was ESET firewall. Even though Outlook
was specifically setup as an allow rule and allow all ports it was still
getting blocked for some reason. Which also explains my timeout issue on
send/receiving.

I deleted the existing firewall rule for Outlook, closed Outlook and
restarted it. When ESET asked about the outgoing connection from Outlook I
accepted it and had it make a permanent rule. I closed Outlook again and
restarted and it appears the new settings have stuck. All images are now
downloading in messages.

Darn firewalls will getcha every time!

Thanks,
Tom
