"Preparing to install" problem

J

John

Every time I click on the Antispyware icon, I get
a "Preapring to install" message and then an error
indicating that the resource is a network resource that
is not available.

If I hit CANCEl two or three times, eventually the
program starts and appears to run just fine.

Thanks for your help.

Generically, it sounds to me as though all three of you have some issue
between the Windows installer, and your installation of Microsoft
Antispyware, or, of some other program using the Windows Installer.

If you were getting a message indicating a specific product involved, my
recommendation would be to do a repair install of that product.

Since you aren't getting such a message, perhaps what is involved is
Microsoft Antispyware itself. Can you do Control Panel, add or remove
programs, Microsoft Antispyware, change, update? Does that change the
behavior?

Is there any more information in this error message that you haven't
posted--perhaps the name of a .MSI file?
