WINDOWS INSTALLER PREPARING To INSTALL

i get windows installer preparing to install when i right click on any
program icon or the start menu. when i right click, a little box comes up in
the middle of the screen with that message then disappears after about 5
seconds. then my right click options come up. is there a way to fix this??
