preparing standby...

my laptop does something weird about one ot two times a day, when i'm using
it. Suddenly it starts to shutdown. The logon screen says : "Preparing
standby" to push something. It's a little hard to explain 'cause i have a
Danish edition and i don't really know the English term for the word it's
using.
Anyways. I doesn't shutdown for real, it just "goes to sleep".(again, i
don't know the English word for it).
Then, when done going to sleep i kan "wake" it and continue using it.

Any idea why it does that? it started doing it for a week ago..

My guess, since it's a laptop, is that you are seeing some failure in the battery recharge, or power level in the battery. The
Control Panel/"Power Options" application will show you what timng is used to go to 'standby' like that.
