My friend and I both have XP on our computers and use PowerPoint Viewer97
with never a problem. However another has tried PPViewer2003 with no end of
problems - she cannot open .pps files no matter what remedy she tries.
Is there anywhere we can still download the 97 viewer? I have tried to find
it but it seems to be unavailable.
Thanks in anticipation for any help.

Still have the MS Office 97 installation discs? The PowerPoint
viewer might be in the added value section.

This should be asked in a MS Office News Group as the Office Document viewers do NOT come
stock with WinXP.

sorry if I posted in the wrong place - I thought this was the General group
for XP?
I have treid googling the 97 viewer but all links seem not to have it for
download.
Also we don't have any installation disc
Any more ideas anyone please?

This is the General group for XP...Windows XP not Office XP.

Did you try the link that I previously provided?

It should lead you to this: http://www.coseti.org/ftp/ppview97.exe

This *is* the general XP newsgroup. XP is an operating system; you are
asking a question about a specific Office application. Post your question
in one of the general Office or even the PowerPoint newsgroups. Here is a
list of all the MS newsgroups so you can find the right one:
