Powerpoint Music File Problems

ppt slides w/music files - 1st song keyed to start at slide 1 & end at slide
13, & 2nd song keyed to begin at slide 14 & end at slide 22. Only second
song plays, not first song. When second song plays, in middle of slides
13/14 song begins again & two copies are then playing. Already checked for
looping, missing linked song files, and duplicate copies of the song. All
ok. Now what - where do I go from here? Online MS help for PPT is of no
use....

Tell me what trigger you are using to start the music playback. (i.e.
automatically, media click, part of an animation sequence, trigger from
shape, etc.)

I used an automatic trigger. PPT slides are in one ppt doc "folder" and the
music is stored in a separate folder under "My Music." One song works and
the other doesn't... stored in the same folder w/different song names.
Also, the one song starts playing and then halfway thru the second slide, it
begins again. looked for duplicate files but don't have the song stored
twice....

Thanks!

First, you should ALWAYS place the media file in the same folder as the
presentation BEFORE you insert them on a slide. Not doing so is an almost
fool proof way to break the links. I would suggest deleting the sound files
from the presentation, moving the files to the presentation folder and then
reinserting them.

After you move the sounds and reinsert them as Austin suggested, set each of
songs to "stop playing after 999 slides." It sounds weird, but it should
work.
