Powerpoint 2003 fails on startup

Hi,

For some reason Powerpoint 2003 started failing on startup, with the error
message: (Microsoft Office PowerPoint has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience). I do send the reports, but then
it asks me to start in safe mode.

AppName: powerpnt.exe AppVer: 11.0.6361.0 AppStamp: 40da0eb9
Modname: mso.dll ModVer: 11.0.6360.0 ModStamp: 40d147de
fDebug: 0 Offset:00070797

First time it told me I had to load some Office upgrades, which I did, but
this did not solve the problem. I have not found any significant info on
this on the web. I'm working remotely and my original disks (that came with
my Thinkpad) are at my office. Any thoughts on what could be causing this?
The error report saysthe following:

The message should also tell you to go to Help > About Microsoft Office
PowerPoint > Disabled Items. Do you see anything disabled?

Hi,

Thanks for the response. It didn' tell me to do this, but going to this
area shows that nothing is disabled. In safe mode I don't see any of my
customizations to the toolbars.

Hello,

Thanks for providing the relevant values from the crash reporting dialog.

According to our records, this particular crash can occur in a variety of
low memory conditions. Freeing up system memory and resources should make
the problem go away if that's the cause in your case.
