Possible XP Standby Bug

I have trouble logging back into windows whenever it goes into standby, there
is a few things to understand first...

1) I have hidden the Admin and Limited user account using TweakUI so only
the guest account is visible.

2) Since I'm using the standard XP Welcome Screen in order to use either the
Admin or the Limited user accounts I have to press CTRL+ALT+DEL, and that
seems to be disabled when there is already a user logged on.

3) The same thing happens when trying to use Log Off -> Switch User (maybe
that is called Fast User Switching?), but for some reason CTRL+ALT+DEL is
disabled on the Welcome Screen when there is a user already logged in...

Any tips? I'm not trying to create a hassle BTW...

) Be sure hibernation is disabled.

) Kind of confused here about the "Welcome Screen" and "Ctrl-Alt-Del". You
have one or the other as choices when logging in. Ctrl-Alt-Del is preferred.
Change this in User Accounts. Uncheck use Welcome Screen. See if your issues
go away.

If I understand your question correctly, you're pressing Ctrl +
Alt + Del once at the Welcome Screen. Is that correct.

In order to bring up the Logon to Windows dialog you have to
hit Ctrl + Alt + Del twice, not once, at the Welcome Screen.

Once you have the Logon to Windows dialog displayed you can
enter the user name and password for the account you want to
log on with.

Good luck

thanks for the reply,
lol yeah I am pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL twice in a row but since there is an
account already logged in, it wont bring up the "classic" Logon prompt, this
is only a problem if there is already an account already logged in.

This is by design. You can only get to the classic login screen if no-one
is logged in.
