Something changed on my machine. (XP Pro)
The Welcome Screen and Fast User Switching (FUS)were working fine.
Heres how it used ot work:
Normally the admin acount does not display on the Welcome Screen. I
ctrl-alt-del to log-in. From there I can FUS out of it and log into
another account. At this point the admin account will show up on the
Weclome screen during
something changed:
Now if I am logged into admin I can FUS out of it. But.. the admin
account does not show up on the Welcome Screen. ctrl-alt-del does not
work to get back in either. I have to log into another account and
log out (not FUS) in order to be allowed to use CTRL-alt-del to get
into the admin account. All programs left running will still be up.
-OR- I do the registry change to put the admin account on the welcome
screen and it always shows up on the welcome screen whether it is
logged in or not.
I would rather have the original method working where the admin
account is only shown if it's logged in but can't find an answer
anywhere.
The only thing I changed recently was turing off simple file sharing.
However turning it back on does not fix the problem.
thanks for any help or pointers.
