Fast user switching

Hi. Whenever I use fast user switching I have a problem. If an account is not
shown on the welcome screen and I switch users ( back to the welcome screen
with Start+L) you cannot press ctrl+alt+del twice to come up with the old
logon box, but if you actually fully logoff it works fine.I'm running Windows
XP Home SP2. If you can't understand that please tell me, I have been looking
for an answer to this question for ages. Thanks! Jake.

As far as I'm aware you can't have the ctrl-alt-delete option if fast
user switching is enabled....

Thanks for your reply, it does work. As soon as you turn on the computer and
don't logon as anyone it will work, also if you have logged on and you logoff
(not switch user) it will work. It's only when you switch user back to the
welcome screen it doesn't work. It becomes annoying as my account is hidden
from the welcome screen (by choice) and if I pop out for a second I always
lock it. But then I have to logon as someone else and logoff so I can log
back on.

A simpler way to put it may be, why does ctrl+alt+del twice at the welcome
screen, only work after restart or logoff.

Because nobody is logged in. It's a completely
different process than "switching users".

But ctrl+alt+delX2 only works when nobody is logged in though, so I guess

Right. It works because NOBODY is logged in. Fast User
Switching is just that - it does NOT log a user out like Log Off
does, so ctrl+alt+delX2 does not work.

Because it only works when nobody is logged in.
