Plug&Play modem

I have installed in my XP SP2 PC 56,000 bsec modem but the Device Manager
won't even detect it(and as a result, doesn't mark it with error). I have
made the following tries:
1. Install a second modem.
2. Install in another slot.

The result was the same.
The mother board is MSI, and everything apart from the modem problem works
fine.

Can someone advise please?

You may need to install the chipset drivers for the motherboard. This may
help with the resource assignment for this device.
