Please help me fix Outlook

Hello,
I'm using Outlook 2003 on XP Professional SP3. All patchs up to date.
Today, I can't get into Outlook.
It tries to start, flashs my folders on the screen, then it's gone.
No errors in event viewer. I'm using POP account with pst file.
I have run scanpst and it finds no errors. My pst file is about
400MB.
I have deleted and rebuilt my profile.
I have run Outlook /cleanclientrules etc
I have tried to run in Outlook safe mode ... no luck.
I ran detect and repair (from Word) and it finishs with no issues.

Any ideas?

TIA

After furious head scratching, DL asked:

| Start Outlook using the safe switch, does it now open?

In a foreign newsgroup where I participate this same issue came up. The OP reported
that when he uninstalled Norton 2009 the issue with Outlook was fixed. There was no
mention of disabling but only of uninstall. I do not know if this holds water but I
thought I mention it

Uninstalling this and other security programs and reinstalling without
Outlook integration (use custom install) is the best method - disabling
outlook integration doesn't always work.
