First, running all the latest service packs and patches for Office 2007 and
Vista. Also, my PST is not a 97-2002 format.

Question, why does it seem that merely opening a PST with outlook will cause
some sort of errors to occur in the PST structure? I run scanpst
periodically, and there is NEVER a time when the PST is without error. It
always has errors.

Why does the PST seem to be prone to so many errors, seemingly by just
opening in, receiving a few emails, closing it, and running scanpst?

Maybe your anti-virus scanner. If you are running AV and it scans incoming
messages, try finding the option that will turn off those scans. Run for a
while and see if that might be it.

If it is, try posting to your AV forum. g'luck.
