I am using the same .pst file on two computers -- one running Outlook 2003
sp3 running under Win XP Pro sp3, and the other Outlook 2007 running under
Vista 64 sp2. The way I synchronize is to copy the .pst file from one
computer to the other after checking for errors. I close Outlook, run
scanpst, repair the file, copy it to the other computer, then run scanpst on
the received file.

I have noticed that I almost always get errors reported by scanpst
(sometimes just minor errors), even though all I have done since repairing
errors on the other machine is copy the file to the new computer. This
behavior happens in both directions.

Other than that, Outlook works in both places, so this issue is more of a
curiosity than a real problem.

Anybody have an idea why this would be happening?

Outlook 2007 indexes files differently from how previous versions of Outlook
index files. This is the reason it is not recommended to access the same
mailbox from OL 2003 and 2007. It may also apply to accessing the .pst file
from different Outlook versions using a .pst file.
