Please assist me with my mouse issue

I just installed Windows XP SP3 for some odd reason my mouse does not work.
I am using a "Fatal1ty" mouse and I have installed the drivers and still not
working.
ie: move mouse to the left or the right it goes up and down or if it does
left it tends to go up a little. the other thing is if I click on like quick
launch to open IE or other programs listed there.. it opens up like 4
windows. I have sensitivity way low to like the first dot. still opens up 4
windows. When I am playing my games it wont click on the item till like the
5th click. I have also plugged a wireles mouse with the correct drivers and
it acts all funky. Any ideas. oh by the way under device manager I have
HID-complaiant mouse and logitech wireless listed there..

any help would be appreciated.

thank you

Does the mouse work on any other computer or exhibit the same symptoms?
Does any other mouse work on the computer in question or do they exhibit the
same symptoms as the original device?

In Device Manager you should have HID-compliant mouse and the name and type
normally of the actual mouse rather than Logitech Wireless mouse. Is
Logitech wireless the name of the mouse that you are using? This sounds like
a generic Logitech driver to me.

Looks as if possibly you do not have the correct driver properly installed.
I found this Fatal1ty 1010 mouse driver here that was last updated 2 Apr 07
if this is the driver applicable your specific mouse:

If the above is not correct then you need to go to mfg's website and find
the correct driver. If this does not correct after proper install then
contact the Mfg for XP SP3 compatibility etc. Again it looks possibly that
you do not have the correct driver installed for your mouse.

Also open Control Panel and click on the Mouse Icon and see if this is the
mouse that you are using. If not then your currently installed driver is not
matching your mouse.

With my Microsoft wireless mouse, there is a small button that needs to be
pushed under the mouse and on the receiver. Mine worked correctly after
that.
