Pivot Table Error:

P

Paul

"Cannot make this change bc there are too many row or
column items"
Is there a limit on the number of rows in a pivot table
and how do I expand this??
Thanks

The limit of rows and columns in a pivot table is the same as the 'standard'
row and column specification of Excel

256 Columns
65536 Rows (97 and up)

This cannot be expanded. You can pull more than this into a pivot table (I
regularly use over 250,000 records), so long as you summarise the data to
less than the above limits

FWIW, I've had this problem in Excel 2000 - SP3, but it
does not occur in Excel 2002 - SP2.
