Pioneer A06 drive not recognized

MM2 will not recognize my newly-installed Pioneer A06 dvd-
r/cd-r drive. I just receive the error message "A
recordable CD drive was not detected." All my other video
programs (Pinnacle Studio8, Vegas4, UleadDVD Moviefactory,
& others) recognize the drive.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Just one thought...which cut down to the bare minimum = uninstall and
then re-install MM2...it might work and its a fairly non-destructive
approach...if it does not work, I have found that shouting at the offending
object very loudly and slowly makes me feel better...does not help with the
problem...but you might feel better afterwards....
