I am trying digital photography for the first
time. My camera is an Olympus D-550 Zoom.
Outdoor pictures in the view finder are practically
perfect; detail is clear. But when I download them
to the PC and display them on my CRT they are
very dark and detail is difficult to see.
Where do I make adjustments to get brighter pictures?

How do they print? Maybe you need to brighten
your monitor.
Might be worth a try to read the manual. If you
happen to be using flash outside (especially on
distance shots)...it may be causing the lens to
close prematurely.
Have you tried opening the images in a digital
image editing program? If you have a printer,
scanner, digital camera...there should be an
image editor on one or more of the install
disks. All image editing programs have tools
for Brightness and Contrast adjustment.
If you do not have a digital image editing
program I would suggest Digital Image Pro 9...
