dark pictures

When I connect my Sony P5 camera to my PC the pictures come up very dark on the screen - I have to use the edit,brighten function to be able to see them. But when I connect the camera to the TV the pictiures are perfectly coloured. Do I need to change some general settings on my PC?

Go to the manufacturer's web site of your graphics card and look around for an
updated driver.
