Thank you for your interest in my problem. The suggestion you made did not
work. It was the same as was suggested by another person.
I can find the pictures by using
Search/
all files folders/
look for “local settingsâ€

these files are found

C:\Documents and Settings\Default User

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator

C:\Documents and Settings\steve

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile

each of these have 3 folders
temporary internet,
Temp.
& history

I find the pictures in the temp file from

C:\Documents and Settings\steve\Local Settings\Temp

is there a way to not have all the pictures in a folder to be placed in this
file when I look at one picture using Window picture and fax viewer?
or
is there a way to not use Windows picture and fax viewer when attaching a
file on to an email using hotmail. When I attach a file using Outlook it
does not use the pic & fax viewer
recieved one response to delete files in tools/gen/options/delete files.
but it did not change things... the files are in local settings/temp. I can
delete them but EVERY TIME I LOOK AT ANY PICTURE ALL THE PICTURES IN THIS
FOLDER ARE THEN ABLE TO BE SEEN WHEN SCROOLING. HOW DO I PREVENT ALL
PICTURES FROM SHOWING UP.....?????? PLEASE HELP

after I open a picture with this program the next time I use it to open an
email attachment I can scrool through and there are many pictures I do no
want to be seen. I delete them one at a time and then scrool through and
they are not there but if I use the program to open a picture in a sub folder
the next time I use the program all of the pictures that were associated with
that folder are again on the picture viewer.
How do I not save all pictures that the picture viewer has scanned through
so that if I open a document (fax or pict) with the program all of those
embarrassing pictures are not again able to be scroole through.

Thanks

Delete everything in %homepath%\Local Settings\Temp

Clean out your Temporary Internet Files.

To delete all Temporary Internet Files...

1) Start | Run | Type: inetcpl.cpl | OK
Or right click the Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop.
Or: Start | Settings | Control Panel | Internet Options.
Best to do this with all instances of Internet Explorer closed. Especially
if there are a large number of files.
2) On the General Tab, in the middle of the screen, click on Delete Files
3) Check the box Delete all offline content {This cleans >>
%homepath%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
AND
%homepath%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
and \Content.MSO (Created by an MS Office program)}
4) Click on OK and wait for the hourglass icon to stop after it deletes the
temporary internet files
5) You can now click on Delete Cookies and click OK to delete cookies that
websites have placed on your hard drive.

I didn't see your first message, but I may know your problem with attaching
photos to Hotmail messages. When you click on "Attach" above your
composition, it takes you to a window asking if you want the editing
service, right? If you click "yes" it gives you an image editing option
which may use your viewer (I'm guessing, I don't use it), or "cancel" goes
back to the message window. When you click on "Attach" you need to choose
"File" from the menu instead of "Pictures". A window will open with a place
to either type in the path to a photo or an option to Browse for it. In
browsing you needn't open the pic/fax viewer.

As to the rest, Why don't you look in each of those "temp" and "History"
folders and see if your pictures are in all of them. I am puzzled about why
they all exist--I don't have all those folders in every user-directory. But
you could try deleting them in users other than your own (copy them
somewhere first so you can always move them back if needed.). There are ways
to manipulate contents in History-- you might need additional software for
that.

If you are unnecessarily using the Hotmail editing option, maybe that is
putting your photo files in the Temporary Internet folder (?). If so, you
would be better off using another image editor.

FWIW. Hope it helps,

Thank you pflueger,
However..... Please let me make my question more clear.
Your response was thoughtful and in laymans terms..... but it did not answer
my question.... please try again to help me. obviously you know alot....
let me make my question clearer..

When I try to attach a picture in hotmail I am immediately taken to the
"picture editing and attaching tool." This shows thumbmails of all pictures
in the last folder that was opened.... If the folder is a sub folder then
it shows all pictures in the folder and the sub folder.. on the left side
it shows all folders so I can open any folder and the thumbnails will
appear.. This is NOT the problem.

Here is the PROBLEM....
Afterwards... when I open OUTLOOK and a email I recieve contains a picture
or fax attachment and I open it... Automatically all pictures that were in
any folders
that a picture was attached from are visible when scrooling through the
pictures on fax and picture viewer.....
Even if these pictures are on a D drive and the CD is not in the
computer.... I can then go to

Search/
all files folders/
look for “local settingsâ€

these files are found

C:\Documents and Settings\Default User

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator

C:\Documents and Settings\steve

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile

each of these have 3 folders
temporary internet,
Temp.
& history

I find the pictures in the temp file from

C:\Documents and Settings\steve\Local Settings\Temp

I then delete the pictures............... when next I open an attachment
NO other pictures appear.... until I again do an attachment in hotmail....

THE QUESTION!!!!!

is there a way to not have all the pictures in a folder to be placed in this
folder when I look at one picture using Window picture and fax viewer?
or
is there a way to not use Windows picture and fax viewer when attaching a
file on to an email using hotmail. When I attach a file using Outlook it
does not use the pic & fax viewer??

Same question..... much shorter version

EVERY TIME I LOOK AT ANY PICTURE in pic and fax viewer ALL THE PICTURES
IN related FOLDERs ARE THEN ABLE TO BE SEEN WHEN SCROOLING. HOW DO I
PREVENT ALL
PICTURES FROM SHOWING UP.....?????? PLEASE HELP
