phone dialer launches itself

whenever I start up my pc after a few minutes phone
dialer will launch itself causing the computer to lock up.
Is there any way to remove it? I have tried system
restore from the time I did a fresh install but that
didn't work. Any ideas?

Did the computer work OK before, ie: not dial out automatically? If so, and
this just started, I would run SpyBot or AD-Aware and have the program
remove any porn dialers that may have been put on your system.

Is a dialer - or anything odd looking sitting in your startup group? If so,
delete the offending item. I'd also run a spyware scan
(http://security.kolla.de/) to make sure you don't have something on your
system that's trying to dial out. Might be a good time to install a
firewall, too.
